The Threesome

Romantic music. Check.

Candles in the bedroom. Check.

Candles around the hot tub. Check.

No shirts. Check.

Mike looked around the room, smiling at the preparations. He walked over to Scott, hugging him from behind as he looked out the window. “I just saw him get dropped off,” Scott said. “He should be up in a few minutes.”

“Okay,” said Mike, nuzzling Scott’s neck. “I’ll get the door.”

Scott shivered as Mike passed his hands across his chest while disengaging. He crossed to the opposite end of the apartment. When the doorbell rang, he opened it immediately.

Kelvin jumped, surprised at how quickly the door had opened. “Oh, hello.” Kelvin looked Mike up and down.

“Come on in!” said Mike. He waited for Kelvin to step inside.

Kelvin thrust out a bottle. “It’s wine. I don’t know if it’s any good.”

“We’ll just have to see.” Mike grinned. “Let me help you out of that.”

“Out of what?” But Mike was already unbuttoning the young man’s shirt. Kelvin stared at Mike’s hands, deftly threading one button at a time. He pulled out the shirt from his pants, unbuttoned the cuffs, and stepped behind Kelvin. Slowly, almost teasingly, he pulled off Kelvin’s shirt.

Kelvin was breathing hard already as Scott came over to the foyer. “Mike,” he said, “You had to start things.”

“He would have been overdressed.” Mike hung up the shirt on a hanger and placed it on the coat rack.

“I’m sorry,” said Scott. “We should have taken it a lot slower.” He glared at Mike for emphasis.

“It’s…it’s…okay.”

“We have some stuffed chicken breast with rice pilaf,” Scott said, walking over toward the kitchen.

Kelvin sat down. He wasn’t comfortable shirtless, Mike noticed. They shared small talk, getting Kelvin to talk about different things he had planned for the reporting aspect, that he wanted to go out in the field more. Mike and Scott nodded, though Mike’s thoughts were elsewhere.

Mike got up as they finished dinner, and he went behind Kelvin. Rubbing his shoulders, he said, “We have no dessert. We were hoping you’d come up to the hot tub.”

Kelvin gulped. They brought the wine and three glasses up to the hot tub. As the two men stripped down, Kelvin slowly took off his clothes, standing in his underwear for a moment. The other two men were naked.

An uncomfortable moment passed, with Kelvin looking at their bodies and then looking down on his own. He finally shimmied out of his tighty-whities and placed them on his pile of clothes. Mike smiled and slipped into the water with Scott.

Kelvin was fully erect, knowing what was coming up. He stepped into the hot tub, sitting opposite Mike and Scott. Mike and Scott separated and beckoned him closer. He moved to sit between them.

Someone started to stroke him, another started to kiss him, and he was lost.

Kelvin said, “I want to go home.”

Mike sat up in bed. “It’s past midnight. You don’t want to stay?”

Kelvin got up from between them. Scott had a concerned look on his face. “You sure you’re all right?”

Kelvin nodded. “I miss Andy.”

Scott and Mike looked at each other. Kelvin hung his head down. “I”m sorry. You’re not mad, are you?”

“No,” Scott and Mike both said in unison. “Of course not,” said Scott.

Mike got up. “I’ll get your clothes.”

After bundling him up and sending him on his way with an Uber driver, Mike and Scott stared at each other. “I hope we didn’t break him,” said Scott.
